Additional Details

For 2026, a single AMA Putt18 Mat tournament will be played between Sunday, March 15 (12:01am US central time) through Saturday, March 21 (11:59pm central US time).

All competitors will stream their play live in the AMA Events Facebook Group so if you are an AMA member be sure to join that group to see some of the videos of people playing on the mat. We’ll be sharing videos on the rules in advance for those unfamiliar with playing on the mat.

Format: Each competitor will play 4 rounds (72 holes) in succession at a time they announced in advance in the Facebook group. See full rules for order of play, leaving balls in place for each set of 3 holes, and reviewing scores.

Rules: We’ll be utilizing the rules from World Pro League from Series 23 with a few differences.

  • Players will be allowed to play rounds with a set of 3 golf balls if they opt not to use the Putt18 branded balls that come with the mat. The 3 balls must be identical in brand, year, and model. Players will need to clearly show that the balls conform to the camera before they stream their rounds if they opt to use balls other than the Putt18 branded balls.

  • No time limit for players completing their 4 rounds.

  • There will be a single-line ball per round of 18 holes. See full rules for line balls.

If you are interested in learning more about the World League that happens throughout the year, check out the Putt18 World Pro League Facebook Group.

Check out the Putt18 website for more information on the mat and how to purchase at mat https://www.putt18.com.au/. Use the code AMA-10 and get 10% off on us!

Points are based on the 2026 Scoring Details. All players must be active AMA members before they play their rounds to earn ranking points.

  • No same-day practice on any of the courses

Additional Details

This is the 29th anniversary of the M.C. Mini Masters, the annual day-long mini golf tournament hosted by Season 1 Holey Moley winner and world record holder, Mick Cullen.

This annual day of mini golf is 6 rounds each, held on different 18-hole courses in Southern Wisconsin & Northern Illinois, starting at 8 am and will go until around 10:30 pm. We’ll include more detailed notes on the tournament format, rules, and more closer to the date, but we have provided some information for players who haven’t played this tournament previously.

2026 Schedule of courses is confirmed!
1. 36 holes at Congo River in Hoffman Estates, IL (18 at Congo Rapids, 18 at Congo Falls)

2. 18 holes at Kristof’s Entertainment Center in Round Lake Beach, IL (course built by Castle Golf) - Lunch will happen after the rounds at Kristof’s

3. 54 holes at America’s Action Territory in Kenosha, WI (17 holes on Lost Falls + portable 18th hole used in past years at Par-King to replace playing the #13 on the Lost Falls course, 18 holes at Wild West, and finish with 18 holes at Wisconsin Adventure)

Entry fee to be added closer to the date, but typically it is around $65. Registration will start in March.

Details on the history of the M.C. Mini Masters and previous scores at www.mcminimasters.net

Although there is no cash purse, a variety of trophies and prizes will be awarded to the top overall scores, top scores on each course, and many other categories.

Here is a list of some things to be aware of that was created for rookies in 2025. This will be updated if the courses or anything else changes in 2026

1) No practice time on tournament courses. There is no chance to get acclimated to the holes or try anything out before it counts. Get your practice in on previous days if it’s a must for you. Given the format of this tourney and the fact that all these courses are open to the public, fitting in practice time on tourney day isn’t an option.

2) Standard golf balls only—no Euro-style minigolf balls allowed. Either use house balls or your own commercially available golf balls.

3) If an entire group elects to do so, they may all take their first shot on each hole before anyone putts out to finish. If three people in a group want to do that and one doesn’t, the one player who wants to complete the hole can just play first and putt out before the others take their tee shots.

4) We will use a shotgun start on all six courses. For the final round, groups will be arranged based on the overall standings after the 5th round. There is a nice seating area available between rounds, and remember there will be 3 free cold drinks available per person for your hydration and enjoyment.

5) One hole on each course is designated as a Wacky Hole! Every putt on that hole must be made in an unusual way (e.g., backward between your legs) or using an unusual implement (e.g., hockey sticks instead of putters). This is designated in advance for each Wacky Hole and is not optional. Everyone’s in the same boat, and this helps us to remember that it’s just mini golf, and it’s supposed to be fun (and funny)!

6) The 13th hole on the Lost Falls course at American Action Territory doesn’t function very well. It gives very random results and is likely to slow down play considerably. Given this, we will use the homemade portable mini golf hole that was used in past years at Par-King for the 18th hole as a substitute for Hole #13 on the Lost Falls course. The rest of the holes on all of other courses will be played.

A tentative schedule that includes a break for lunch will be forthcoming closer to the tournament date. Many people go to dinner together afterward as well.

11th Annual O-Street Winter Classic Tournament

Results

Recap by Brandon Robinson

With the Blizzard of 2026 closing in on the East Coast, competitors braved the elements for the O Street Mini Golf Winter Classic that delivered both weather drama and elite-level competition.

JJ Booth rose above the field with rounds of 40 and 39, finishing at 79 and standing as the only player under 80. His steady performance under pressure secured the Winter Classic title and set the standard in challenging conditions. Justin Seymour followed with rounds of 39 and 42 to post an 81, earning runner-up honors after remaining firmly in contention throughout the day. Brandon Robinson claimed third place at 84, edging out Dave Torroni in a playoff after both players finished regulation tied. Robinson opened with a 40 before battling through a tougher second round, then regrouped when it mattered most to secure the podium position.

Despite the looming storm, the event ran with intensity and professionalism, highlighting the depth of competition in the AMA’s Red Tier circuit. As the snow moved in, the Winter Classic once again proved that high-level mini golf doesn’t stop for the forecast.

Coziest Mini Golf Open 2026

Results

For the 2nd year in a row, the Coziest Mini Golf Open came down to only a couple of putts! Josh Benesh shot a 3-round 90 to become the first repeat champion of the Coziest Mini Golf Open. In the first year of the tournament being multiball (aka minigolf balls were allowed), Josh won the tournament using only a golf ball. In close 2nd with a 91, Mark “Highlighter” Novicki took 2nd place and has the distinction of being the first competitor to ace #9 (Snail) in the 5-year history of the tournament. Tom Loftus started slow but finished with the low round in the 2nd (29) and 3rd (28) rounds. Kaiden High and Justin Gutche tied for 4th. Justin set the new single round record (26) in the 1st round, and Kaiden was one of only 2 competitors (along with Tom Loftus) to take only two 3s the entire tournament. Highlighter won the aces-only round with 6 aces, and in a playoff, Josh Benesh won a playoff for most aces through two rounds (10) against Justin Gutche.

In the amateur division, Trevor Born won in his first attempt in a tournament hosted by A Couple of Putts. Andrea Pendleton was only 1 stroke behind with a 71 and won the women’s division for the tournament. Owen Pendleton and Max Cullen tied for both 3rd in amateur and the junior division, so they played 2 playoffs. Max won the first playoff for the youth division on Holes #1 & #2, and Owen won the playoff for 3rd place in the amateur division on Holes #3 & #4.

AMA Convos: Guide to International Mini Golf

Time: Start 8:30 pm EST / 7:30 pm Central US Time. Expected to be between 1-2 hours long depending on questions from attendees.

Where: Zoom / Online at https://bit.ly/ama2026convos

AMA Convos is the working title of a series of gatherings the AMA will have in 2026 to connect competitive mini golf enthusiasts and to share knowledge about the sport of mini golf.

Details:

Bryan Akers of The Putters League Atlanta will be hosting a conversation on the world of international mini golf. Tom Loftus of A Couple of Putts will join as a co-host. The two of them have competed internationally for the past 3 years in tournaments in Austria, the Czech Republic, the UK, Sweden, and Portugal. Putters League created Putting Planet, a guide to mini golf tournaments, which includes info on numerous international tournaments and tours. Both players have played for Team USA at the World Adventure Golf Masters (WAGM) and qualified for the World Adventure Golf Tour in the past 2 years.

The focus of the conversation will be on adventure golf (the main type of mini golf we play in the US), but there will be some brief discussion on the international standard forms of the sport. Tom & Bryan expect several other players who have international mini golf experience to join the conversation and share advice for those interested in venturing outside the US for mini golf.

We’ll leave lots of room for Q&A and inquiries. The goal is to record the conversation to be used as a future episode of the Puttcast.
