Recap by tournament organizer Scott Kline
The 4th Shack Mini Golf Tournament had a total of 23 players, including 13 AMA members. Players travelled from PA, NY, NJ, CT, and QC.
The Pro Division featured a strong field of 15 players, 12 of them AMA members. All but one finished under par on what is possibly the most challenging course on the AMA schedule. After the first round 5 players were within 5 strokes of Scott Kline, who shot a 61. This included Aaron Kaminski, who was 1 stroke back. On hole #7 Aaron tied the score, but ultimately Scott was able to pull ahead for a 4 stroke victory and 3rd Shack win. Kaminski would finish 2nd. (His 2nd top 3 in 2 attempts) Griffin Weiss took 3rd place in his first trip to Manheim. A 3 way playoff was needed to determine 4th-6th place. Bill Mezier sunk a 2 on hole #1 to secure 4th place. Bryan Weaver clinched 5th place over 2024 winner Jerod Mutter with a 3 on hole #3.
The Amateur Division drew 8 players including 1 AMA member. Sonny Bowers won by 1 stroke over Marion Metzger and 3 over 2023 winner Tom Metzger.
Marion Metzger and Stephane Dulmain made the only aces of the tournament, both on hole 5.
Scott Kline also won the closest to the hole competition held on hole 18 with a putt that finished 22 inches from the cup.
Kelsey Kline was 2nd at 28 and
Trish Weiss was 3rd at 30. Trish received the gift certificate for The Shack Restaurant.
