The Lighthouse Classic changed courses in 2026 but that didn’t stop Mark “Highlighter” Novicki from repeating as the champion of this annual spring Long Beach Island event. It came down to the last few holes in the 5th round between Highlighter and Dave Vayda. A 3 on #18 by Dave was the difference down the stretch. Justin Seymour shot a 26 in the final round to catch Dave and force a playoff. Justin aced the first hole of the 3-hole playoff, and Dave took a 3, and that ended up being the big difference maker. Stephane, J.J. and all of the top 3 finishers tied for the low round of the tournament with a 25. Dave Vayda was the only competitor to shoot a 25 twice.
Tom Brancato edged out Mike Podgorski by 2 strokes to take first in the amateur division.
It was a perfect weather day on Long Beach Island at a fun, pastel colored course built in 1960!
