Words by Mr. Tee (aka Tom Loftus)

As the first In-person points-scoring event of the year for the AMA, we attracted the 2022 AMA season champion Mick Cullen and his son Xavier along with some of the top putters in Minnesota. After a week of opportunities for the public at large to qualify for the championship, The Coziest Open ended up with 16 competitors showing up for a two-round championship on Sunday, February 19th.

In the 2nd year of this now annual tournament hosted by A Couple of Putts, the championship results were scorching and scores were significantly lower than the first year. Joel Brown’s mindblowing two qualifying rounds of 28 and 30 set the bar early. During the championship, there were 3 competitors (Josh, Kaden & Zack) with 9 hole-in-ones each over two rounds and the first sub-30 rounds of the year for an AMA tournament from Josh & Zack. ps. Yes, you’re not seeing things. Going with the theme of being “cozy”, A Couple of Putts invited people to putt in their PJs.
