AMA 2022 Season Wrap

In 2022, we had 9 events that spanned New Jersey, Wisconsin, Illinois, Maine, Connecticut, Missouri, and Minnesota. 239 unique individuals competed on a variety of courses indoors and outdoors that required a lot of skill and a little bit of luck. Some of those courses have challenging breaks and narrow paths to the cup and others had spinning windmills and castles.

It all came down to the final couple of events of our inaugural American Mini Golf Alliance season. Over in the East, Justin Seymour, Matt Liles and Pat Sheridan were all battling for position with a win at the Matterhorn International Pro-Am (a White tournament), which was the thing that could propel any of them to the top of the field. With Matt winning that tournament, it set him and Justin for a tie on top, awaiting only the final tournament of the season, the Miniest Mini Golf Open in Minnesota, to be played.

Mick Cullen’s 2nd place finish at the M.C. Mini Masters (a Red tournament ) earlier in the year put him in a position to do well with a solid finish at the Miniest (a White tournament). Having never played the course before the tournament might have been a disadvantage to some but Mick proved his prowess with a putter and showed why he was a champion by winning the tournament. It earned him enough points to get to the top of the rankings for 2022.

All of the final placement and scoring information is detailed out below for the AMA members. For a detailed discussion of our year and the final standings, check out the Puttcast episode below.

We look forward to an exciting 2023 with an expanded slate of tournaments!
